What is Microdosing?

A microdose is a sub-perceptual amount of a psychedelic substance and involves taking anywhere from 2-10% of an intoxicating dose. Despite the small size, microdosing can be as (or more) effective in eliciting meaningful change as a full recreational or ceremonial dose. Because it doesn’t cause impairment and allows you to go about your daily activities without difficulty, the effects of the mushroom can be integrated into your everyday relationships and reality.

Studies show that microdosing enhances neuroplasticity and in a sense allows your nervous system to shift mental patterns and connections that no longer serve you– while enabling you to build new ones that do. Microdosing is not a magic pill, it is a catalyst for neuroplasticity.

When first microdosing, I find it helpful to approach it as a protocol, not a one-off experience. Committing to 30/60/90 days allows you time to become familiar with the medicine and to notice subtle and lasting changes in mood, behavior, and relationships. With deep respect and reverence for all the plant medicines and compounds that support inner work and healing, I see microdosing as a skill and a tool that supports the path of personal and collective transformation.
